At Charlieıs Dog Training Centre we have a fully equipped therapy pool for dogs, the pool is heated and is a non- chlorinated pool which we have found to be very beneficial in helping dogs with a variety of different problems. The pool is eight foot by six foot and four foot deep, dogs swim from a harness which is attached to three points keeping the dog in the current which is produced by three variable jets that pump water into the pool creating a current to which the dog swims against. This system enables us to control the swimming very effectively and allows us to swim any size of dog.
We also have a Jacuzzi that helps the more older arthritic dogs and helps to alleviate stiffness after operations or muscle strains. This piece of equipment has six variable jets that massages the dog with warm water, a Jacuzzi before and after a swim can greatly enhance the effects of swimming. Large breeds are lifted in to the pool using harnessıs and a hoist this is a quick and safe way to transport the dog into the pool and no dog has objected to this form of lifting. After the swim or Jacuzzi you can use the drying room using driers designed to get the dog dry quickly, this is especially important for dog that are old or suffering from arthritis.

5. Spinal disc lesions.
6. Weight loss.

It has also been found to have huge benefits for the working or show dog, improving muscle tone, fitness and in some cases movement.

It should be noted that we only accept cases on veterinary referral and if you would like to swim a dog which has no physical problems we do insist on a letter from your vet stating that they can find no reason that your dog should not swim.

We are fully insured with professional liability and have been swimming dogs for two and a half years, the staff have undertaken courses on nutrition, first aid and are all trainers at the training centre with many years experience of handling dogs.

The centre is situated on a lovely farm location with plenty of parking and walks for dogs, also on site you can visit Alanıs Ark which is a well stocked pet store.

Swimming is available six days of the week including evenings and weekends, the first session is free and if you purchase 10 swims in advance you will receive one extra swim free, alternatively you can pay for the swims individually which costs £ 10 per swim. Drying room is available at no charge (owners to dry dog). Club bookings welcome.
